This article will review the new Sylvanian Families release by Flair UK: Maypole & Dancers.

When was it released?

The Maypole & Dancers set was released in November 2011 as part of the special ‘Celebrating 25 years’ of Sylvanians in the UK range.

What is included in the set?

The set consists of:

- A decorative floral maypole with ribbons attached for dancing with;

- 1 rabbit figure in dress with floral details;

- 1 cat figure in dress with floral details;

- 2 rubber floral style headbands.

What the packaging says

‘Abbie Keats and Poppy Dappledawn are the best of friends. They have been practising their special Maypole dance for some time now and have even had new dresses made. They are finally ready to show everyone in Sylvania just how good they are!’

So what is the set really like?

This is a very sweet set which would fit with many other Sylvanian ranges such as Berrygrove School or village playsets. It is nice to have two different characters in a set, and particularly unusual to have a cat figure in a separate set. The outfits are well put together unlike some Sylvanian costumes which can be easily damaged by little fingers tugging them on and off. Although it is a shame that there are only two ribbons on the maypole so only two Sylvanians can dance at any one time.

All in all a nice set for children and collectors alike.
